Description: Rosa Gallica Absolute Oil derives from the Rosa Gallica plant, known for its beauty and sweet-smelling scent. This flowering shrub plant has intensely-coloured, non-recurrent flowers. Rosa Gallica Flower Oil is extracted from the petals and is a very beneficial external tonic that can be used to soothe and calm irritated skin, reduce wrinkles, heal bruises faster, or as a general skin care product. Used in this way, it can also treat eczema, acne and shingles and will strengthen and help heal capillaries. It is also an effective anti-bacterial agent when applied externally. Also known as Gallic Rose, Crimson Damask Rose, and Rose of Provins.

Common Uses: Rosa Gallica Absolute Oil can be used in perfume, air fresheners, moisturisers, cold creams and shampoos.

Blends well with: Other Roses, Frankincense, Vetiver, Vanilla, Spikenard, Myrrh, Ylang Ylang, Lemon, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Geranium, Neroli, Carnation, and Lime.

Aromatic Description: Fresh roses in full bloom with an unexpected woodsy, almost citrusy base note.

Cautions: It is important to note that all absolutes are extremely concentrated by nature. They should not be evaluated in this state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted fragrance. For those trying Absolutes for the first time, we strongly recommend they be evaluated in dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance – particularly the rare and exotic notes – become lost.  Should not be used on broken or irritated skin.

Shelf Life - Our essential oils all have a shelf life in excess of 12 months. However, as with any essential oil we recommend using it within 12 months of opening
